Bios Compression Pump
BIOS Compression Pump is medically proven to improve circulation in your legs.
It is a compact battery-operated, peristaltic pump which is worn on your calf and is easy to put on. (It is worn on the back of the leg, approximately 2 inch below the knee). It generates a wave-form motion producing upward volumetric displacement which translates into an increase in blood flow.
The BIOS compression pump was developed and tested in Canada. It is approved by Health Canada for treating medical conditions due to poor circulation. The continuous wave action pumps blood from the lower legs reducing pain and swelling in the legs.
The BIOS Living Compression Pump is an effective way to treat circulation problems: Arterial disease, Chronic leg pain, Chronic Venous insufficiency, Diabetes, Diabetic ulcer, DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis), Edema, Foot ulcers, Heavy legs, Hypertension, Impaired blood circulation, Leg cramping, Pain and swelling after a blood clot, Parkinson’s Disease, Peripheral Arterial Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Pregnancy, PTS (Post Thrombotic Syndrome), Spider veins, Swelling, Tight, arching legs, Varicose veins and Venous Stasis.
This medical device has been statistically proven to improve circulation and alleviate the symptoms associated with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI).
When in use a unique wave motion continually propels blood upwards, increasing lower leg circulation by 64%. The result is a substantial reduction in pain and swelling, especially in the lower legs and feet.
The compression pump weighs less then 8 ounces and is easy to strap onto the leg, without assistance. It can be worn comfortably for hours both during the day and at night.
A medically effective alternative to wearing compression stockings; may also be worn over compression stockings without difficulties.
“Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) involving the lower limbs is estimated to affect from up to 50% of men and up to 55% of women” (Eberhardt, Raffetto, 2009)
- 64% increase in popliteal peak venous flow (after 2 minutes of use)
- 88% increase in popliteal peak venous flow (after 50 minutes of use)
- 79% decrease in the occurrence of Venous Thromboembolism in high risk patients.
The BIOS compression pump is applied to the back of the calf, it mimics the body’s venous system by preventing blood from remaining still and clotting.
The BIOS compression pump is unique because it is lightweight (250g, less than ½
pound), discreet and allows patients to remain completely mobile during use. There is no wire, tubes or sleeves.
Patients can comfortably wear the compression pump for hours at a time
while still maintaining an active lifestyle.
The robust little motor produces a small and gentle wave motion which will pump continuously for 8 hours on a single charge.
An AC/DC adaptor is included, along with two high quality “AA” NiMH, rechargable batteries, instructions manual and Quick Setup Guide, BIOS COMPRESSION PUMP with Neoprene wrap.
